DevDAO has launched a new managed infrastructure service called Developer DAO Cloud, designed to support Web3 developers with reliable and lower-cost infrastructure. The platform introduces an Infrastructure as a Service model focused on performance, choice and operational resilience.
At launch, Developer DAO Cloud offers a managed blockchain node service for eight different chains. To strengthen performance and decentralisation across its node network, DevDAO has partnered with Pocket Network. The service is positioned as a cost-efficient alternative to providers such as Infura and Grove. DevDAO says its optimised codebase removes garbage collection processes, which helps reduce latency spikes and lower operating costs for users.
While remote procedure call services are already widely available, DevDAO aims to stand out through pricing, ease of use and reliability. Following a major refactor, the platform reduced unnecessary compute usage, which improved efficiency and return on infrastructure investment. Through its long-standing relationship with Pocket Network and its involvement in PGAT, DevDAO built a service designed to deliver improved reliability and network diversity. Any unused compute capacity from DevDAO’s own infrastructure can be sold back into Pocket Network’s supply layer, creating a shared capacity model.
Developer DAO Cloud is designed to simplify infrastructure management for developers. It removes the need to handle deployment and maintenance tasks, allowing teams to focus on application development. The platform plans to support a wide range of workloads, including web applications, databases and servers, using a container-based runtime. DevDAO’s approach follows a similar model to platforms such as Vercel, with a stronger focus on cost control and infrastructure flexibility.
DevDAO is also working towards vertical integration of internet infrastructure to improve pricing, performance and developer experience across its services.
Speaking about the long-term direction of the platform, DevDAO Cloud founder Zachary Kornberg said, “Long-term, we envision supplying not just RPC endpoints but also virtual machines, cloud runtimes, and storage to end-users. We’re capitalizing on our strong developer community and social media presence, as well as our partnership with Pocket Network, to simplify Web3 infrastructure deployment without compromising on functionality, both for end users and developers, to make it happen.”
The platform allows developers to integrate quickly by connecting a single RPC endpoint to standard blockchain software development kits. It removes the need for DevOps work and infrastructure management. Developer DAO Cloud will support both subscription and usage-based payments, mainly using stablecoins through an in-house payment system. Support for fiat payments is planned for a later stage.
Commenting on the collaboration, Pocket Network Director Chris “Jinx” Jenkins said, “The Pocket Network/DevDAO partnership will be a shining example of what’s possible when goals and needs align,” adding “This cooperation will increase resiliency and performance for DevDAO’s end users, optimizing for low latency and fault tolerance, while beefing up capacity for Pocket Network’s supply side.”
Further updates and announcements from DevDAO are shared through the organisation’s X account.
